Cycling federation of Slovenia awarded best riders of the season on the Night of Stars, the closing event of the season. With 30th place on the World Championships, top ten finishes in iXS European Cup, good World Cup results and domination in Slovenian Cup, Nejc Rutar was awarded as the best mountain bike rider of the year. In the female category Tanja Žakelj, third from the European Championships, took the honor.
Nejc had this to say after the ceremony: "This is confirmation for the season, the confirmation of all the effort that went into racing. At the same time it gives me motivation in the right time so I will work even harder to achieve better results next year."
