It has not been the best weekend for our team on iXS European Cup downhill race in Pila, Italy. On the home ground of ex-downhill star Corrado Herin Žiga finished in 31st place and Nejc took the 34th. There was much bigger competition however, due to World Cups on schedule before and after this race. Our boys are faster than that, but couldn’t find the right rhythm of the course that was in bad condition. “Nothing special with my run, I just kept sticking in the last part,” was Nejc’s short comment. Žiga had this to say: “It was cool weekend but the fast track was super dusty, so it was hard to do a great run.” Both of them are still in the top 10 overall - Nejc is 4th, Žiga has gone up to 9th, but will have to do a good job on the last event in Chatel to secure high overall positions.
